FORT WASHINGTON, MD – A Fort Washington middle schooler has been arrested and charged for bringing a loaded hand gun to school on Tuesday.

The Prince George’s County Police Department took the student into custody this morning at Isaac J. Gourdine Middle School in Fort Washington for being in possession of a loaded handgun.

“At approximately 8:15 am, the PGPD responded to the school in the 8700 block of Allentown Road for the report of a student with a gun,” PGPD said in a statement. “Officers located the student in a classroom. A non-serialized ghost gun was recovered from his waistband. No one was injured.”

The preliminary investigation revealed the 13-year-old student showed the weapon to other students this morning, one of whom reported it.
