Man Shot During Botched Dog Sale in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A man who was selling a dog to a stranger was shot by the potential buyer and robbed of the dog, police reported today.

On Sunday, at about 11:47 AM, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were located near Cannon Drive when they heard multiple gunshots.

Officers responded immediately and located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided medical aid to the victim for a non-life-threatening injury until he was transported to a local hospital,” police reported. “During the investigation, it was discovered the victim was attempting to sell his dog to the suspects when an altercation occurred. The suspects fled the area with the dog after firing shots at the victim.”


On Wednesday police arrested Jamila Wilson and Chancelon Russell, both of Louisana for the dog theft and shooting. The dog was recovered and returned to the owner.
