Tractor-Trailer Driver Robbed, Assaulted in Newark’s South Ironbound Section

NEWARK, NJ – A tractor-trailer driver was assaulted and robbed by multiple suspects at gunpoint while inside his cab in South Ironbound.

According to police, the two suspects were observed on video surveillance exiting from a vehicle in the 200 block of Miller Street.

“They walked to a parked tractor-trailer, opened the driver’s door, and assaulted the victim before stealing $200 in cash from his pocket and taking his duffle bag containing clothing. One of the suspects was holding a handgun during the incident,” police reported.


Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect as part of their investigation. The suspects are both described as black males.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a gray Toyota Camry, 4 door, tinted windows. The vehicle was reported missing from Elmwood Park on June 9th.
