Argument Leads to Shots Fired at Utica Taco Bell

UTICA, NY – Police in Utica responded to a shots fired incident at the Taco Bell in North Utica on Saturday.

According to police, at approximately 1:35 PM an investigator with the Utica Police Department Criminal Investigations Division was in the area when he heard what was believed to be shots fired in the Taco Bell North Utica parking lot.

“As he approached the location he witnessed a vehicle leaving the parking lot and proceeded to follow it until additional units could assist him,” the Utica Police Department said. “As a stop was conducted the vehicle was found to be occupied by a male who had an injury to his hand that was bleeding heavily. Through the investigation it was learned that the operator of this vehicle had engaged in an argument with an occupant of the suspect vehicle, and as the argument escalated the occupant displayed a handgun and fired several rounds toward the victim.”


Police said the victim was not shot, but cut by shattered glass in their car.

At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
