FREDERICK,MD – Two male victims who were shot early Tuesday morning in Frederick are expected to survive their injuries, police reported.

At around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, the Frederick Police Department responded to the 1000 Block of Heather Ridge for reports of gunshots in the area.

“Upon arriving on scene, officers determined a shooting had occurred and located an adult male with a gunshot wound,” the Frederick Police Department reported. “That victim was flown to an area trauma center. A second male victim later arrived at an area hospital by himself and was later transported to an area trauma center.”

The gunman was not located and no suspect information has been released. Police said the shooting appears to be targeted and that no public safety concerns exist at this time.

” There is no immediate threat to the public and FPD does not believe this to be a random act of violence,” the department said.
