20-Year-Old Plainfield Man Shot After Leaving Party

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – A confrontation at a party on Arnold Avenue led to the shooting of a 20-year-old from Plainfield later in the night.

According to North Plainfield Chief of Police William G. Parenti, at approximately 10:45 p.m., North Plainfield Police Officers responded to the area of Vermeule Park off of Clinton Avenue, North Plainfield in response to a 9-1-1 call for shots fired.

“Upon arrival, North Plainfield Officers located a 20-year-old male shooting victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Officers along with responding Emergency Medical Personnel tended to the shooting victim who was treated at an undisclosed area hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound,” police said.


Police believe that prior to the shooting, the victim was present at a large gathering/party at a nearby residence on Arnold Avenue. A

“Authorities are attempting to determine the motive for the shooting, and if a potential confrontation at the party potentially lead to numerous shots being fired,” police said.
