Man Arrested for Terroristic Threats at Jersey Shore Synagogue

DEAL, NJ – Police have arrested Nicholas Skirvin, 44, of Denville for making terroristic threats against congregants at the Lawrence Avenue Synagogue Ohel Yaacob Congregation in Deal.

According to police, on Friday, at around 1 pm, Deal Police Officer Jon Losquadro was dispatched to the Lawrence Ave Synagogue for a report of a subject screaming obscenities at congregants.

“Officers responded to the scene and interviewed the victims and learned that the accused had made several terroristic threats that were bias in nature,” police said. “Following further investigation, the accused was located on the 4th Ave beach in Asbury Park and was arrested by Deal officers.”

Police said Skirvin was processed and charged at Deal Police Headquarters with 2nd degree Bias Intimidation, 3rd degree Terroristic Threats and Harassment. He was transferred to the Monmouth County Jail.
