Man Upset Over Internet Installation Services in Lakewood Charged After Becoming Irate

LAKEWOOD, NJ – A Deal man was arrested on Saturday in Lakewood. According to the Lakewood Police Department, he was upset over work crews wiring the neighborhood for internet access.

Lakewood Police Officer Connor Woods responded to the area of Holly Street where he assisted a Lakewood police captain who was engaged in a foot pursuit with Jaim Malka, 29.

“Malka became irate towards utility workers that were wiring to serve the area with internet capabilities and grabbed the cable wires and attempted to pull them off of the top of the pole and sustained lacerations on his hands,” the Lakewood Police Department reported.


Malka was arrested and transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault against a utility worker, two counts of simple assault, resisting arrest and other charges.
