Seasons Kosher Grocery Coming to Toms River’s North Dover Section as Demand Grows

TOMS RIVER, NJ – For years, the lot at the southwest side of the Cox Cro Road and Route 9 intersection has remained vacant and lifeless. Today, it was announced that Seasons, a 20,000-square-foot kosher supermarket will be built on the site.

The supermarket is under construction as part of an overall 40,000 square foot shopping center and 3,500 square foot standalone building with a drive-thru.

Last week, Shore News Network reported Seasons will be building two new locations in Ocean County. One at the Toms River Cox Cro site and the other in Manchester.

With the everchanging population base in the Toms River and surrounding five towns area, the need for Kosher supermarkets has finally met the level where there will soon be two built. The surrounding area in North Dover is now home to a large Orthodox Jewish population which is steadily growing. Right now, those residents have to travel to Lakewood or Jackson to meet their kosher dietary needs for grocery shopping.

Seasons, based out of Lakewood Township, will be opening one location in Toms River at the intersection of Cox Cro Road and Route 9 in the under-construction plaza at the southwest corner of the intersection.

In Manchester, there will be a Seasons built near the intersection of Route 70 and Ridgeway. While there is not currently a large Orthodox Jewish population in the immediate vicinity, a large residential development called Jackson Trails has been approved nearby on South Hope Chapel Road in Jackson that will bring hundreds of Orthodox Jewish families to the neighborhood in the coming years.

The two stores join Aisle 9, which opened in Jackson Township earlier this year on East Veterans Highway. NPGS has maintained a Kosher supermarket on Countyline Road in Jackson for many years.

Seasons operates a flagship store on Cedarbridge Avenue near the Jersey Shore BlueClaws stadium. The supermarket chain operates five other locations in North Jersey and New York.
