Two Buffalo area men have been charged with attempted murder and attempted robbery after firing shots during a violent armed robbery on June 2nd.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said 19-year-old Israel McMillan and 22-year-old Tyyon Brown of Buffalo were both arraigned today.

According to Flynn, on June 2 at approximately 4:55 p.m., the two men, while acting in concert with one another, entered a convenience store on East Lovejoy Street in the City of Buffalo with the intent to commit an armed robbery.

“Defendant Brown was allegedly armed with an illegal, loaded revolver. Defendant McMillan was allegedly armed with what appeared to be an AR-style rifle. Both defendants are accused of forcibly stealing an unknown amount of cash from the register while armed with a deadly weapon,” Flynn said. “It is further alleged that defendant Brown pointed the illegal revolver at a customer and demanded the victim’s wallet. When the victim refused, defendant Brown allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim before fleeing from the store.”

Police said the victim, a 60-year-old man, was shot twice. He was taken to ECMC where he was treated for inuries to his left arm and left side.

Both defendants were located nearby by Buffalo Police shortly after the crime and taken into custody. Police found a revolver inside one of the defendant’s backpack. Police also found the AR-style BB gun hidden in a bush on Ideal Street.  – Investigation report.
