FREDERICK, MD – Police arrived at the scene of a shooting on North Market Street in Frederick to find one man shot in the chest.
According to police, on Saturday, at approximately 3:30 AM, officers of the Frederick Police Department were dispatched to the 300 blk of N Market Street, in Frederick City, for a disturbance.
“When officers arrived they observed the victim, Michael Isaiah Olaniyi, lying on the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. Officers immediately requested Emergency Medical Services respond to the scene, and provided medical attention to the victim before their arrival. The medical care provided by the officers on the scene included placing a chest seal on the wound and active CPR. Olaniyi was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead soon after,” police said,
Detectives are investigating and are asking witnesses to help them identify the suspect in the shooting.
