Carjacking, Armed Robbery Highlight Today’s Howard County Police Blotter

COLUMBIA, MD – A carjacking took place on Saturday and a knifepoint robbery on Friday. Those are just two criminal acts that took place this past weekend across Howard County. Today, the Howard County Police Department issued the following police blotter incident reports.

Columbia, 21045: 
6100 block of Dobbin Road, Aug. 6 8:11 p.m.
An adult female victim reported that she was in her parked vehicle when she was approached by a male suspect who displayed a gun and demanded the vehicle. The victim exited the vehicle and the suspect drove off in it. No one was injured. 

Ellicott City, 21043: 
Barnes & Noble, 4300 block of Montgomery Road, Aug. 5 5:47 p.m.
A store employee reported that when he approached a male suspect who had stolen merchandise, the suspect displayed a knife and threatened him. The suspect then fled. No one was injured.
SUSPECT: White male, approximately 6’0” with a thin beard wearing a black zip-up jacket and brown pants

Columbia, 21044: Artisan’s Fine Jewelry, 10300 Little Patuxent Parkway, Aug. 6 1:30 p.m.
Store employees reported two male suspects with their faces partially covered entered the store, broke glass display cases, and stole merchandise before fleeing. No one was injured. 
SUSPECTS: Two Black males, one with a thin build and short hair, wearing all black clothing, the other with a medium build and short hair wearing light gray pants and a hoodie

Commercial burglary
Columbia, 21045: 
Pete’s Snowballs, 9200 block of Sealed Message Road, Aug. 5-6 overnight 
Unknown suspect(s) entered the shed by cutting the locks and stole cash and drink items before fleeing.

Ellicott City, 21042: Hackers Ink, 9000 block of Chevrolet Drive, Aug. 5-6 overnight
Unknown suspect(s) entered the business by breaking the front glass door and stole cash and electronics.

Columbia, 21046: Kings Contrivance Liquor and Smoke Shop, 8600 block of Guilford Road, Aug. 7-8 overnight 
Unknown suspect(s) entered the business by breaking the lock. It is unclear what, if anything, was stolen.
