Cleveland Man Pleads Guilty to Four Counts of Criminal Weapons Possession

BUFFALO, NY – (ECDA Press Release) – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 28-year-old Rachad DeJesus of Cleveland, Ohio pleaded guilty this morning before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to four counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felonies). The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges in the indictment against him.

On November 12, 2019 a search warrant was executed at an apartment on Hertel Avenue in the City of Buffalo. Inside the apartment, investigators from the Buffalo Police Department and the ATF found the defendant in possession of four semi-automatic pistols.

DeJesus faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. He continues to remain held without bail.


DA Flynn commends members of law enforcement who assisted in this investigation, including the Buffalo Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan D. Haggerty of the Homicide Bureau.
