Bicyclist Injured in Hit and Run Crash, Philadelphia Police Seeking Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for the driver of a Range Rover that struck a bicyclist on Bustleton Avenue on Monday and fled the scene.

According to police, on Monday, at approximately 12:48 AM a crash with critical injuries occurred involving a bicyclist in the 7300 Block of Bustleton Avenue and a Range Rover SUV1.

The Range Rover was traveling north on Bustleton Avenue when it made contact with a bicyclist who was traveling south in the northbound lane.


“The contact split the bike into two parts knocking the bicyclist from his bike and was thrown several feet and sustained severe injuries due to the contact and fall,” the Philadelphia Police Department said. “The victim, a 42-year-old male, was transported to Frankford Torresdale Hospital by Medic and admitted in extremely critical condition.”

The Range Rover fled the scene of the accident and was last seen north on Bustleton Avenue.

Vehicle parts recovered from the scene match a 2012 to 2019 Range Rover Evoque. There should be damage to the right front bumper, headlight, and mirror. Color is unknown at this time.
