Three New York women were charged with shoplifting in Rehoboth Beach.

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – the Rehoboth Beach Police Department has announced three women from New York have been charged after they robbed and shoplifted from a Bayside outlets store.  According to police, the three women used large handbags to attempt to conceal their thefts.

A fourth suspect involved in the shoplifting fled from police upon arrival.

Delaware State Police have arrested 24-year-old Jennifer Ramirez-Sanchez of Flushing, New York; 24-year-old Sophia Gonzales of Flushing, New York; and 51-year-old Nubia Garcia of Brooklyn, New York on numerous charges following a shoplifting investigation that began in the Rehoboth Beach area on Thursday evening.


According to a police report, on August 25, at approximately 4:25 p.m., troopers on patrol in the area of the Bayside Outlets were informed by a witness that several female subjects had shoplifted clothing from the Columbia Sportswear store.

“The suspects had concealed merchandise in large handbags and were seen walking through the parking lot. Troopers attempted to contact the female suspects in the parking lot, but they continued walking away and physically resisted being detained,” policesaid. “Troopers were able to take three of the four subjects into custody at the scene, while the fourth unidentified female suspect fled the area on foot. The ensuing investigation revealed that the suspects had shoplifted from several outlet stores and had worn various disguises while doing so. The suspects had also concealed stolen items underneath vehicles in the Bayside Outlets parking lot.”

The three suspects, identified as Jennifer Ramirez-Sanchez, Sophia Gonzales, and Nubia Garcia, were transported to Troop 7 and charged with the following crimes:
