Woman assaulted, Labrador Retriever stolen by teenagers in violent carjacking

COLUMBUS, OH – Police in Columbus are investigating after a woman was assaulted while walking her dog to her vehicle and carjacked. According to police, the suspect block the victim’s vehicle using their SUV got out of the car and attacked the victim with an unknown weapon. After removing the woman from the car the suspects drove off with the woman’s dog still inside.

On August 26, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the victim was walking her dog to her vehicle from a store located in the 3700 block of Easton Market.

“The victim had just put her dog in her vehicle when the suspects pulled up next to her in a stolen Kia SUV. The driver of the SUV used it to partially block the victim’s vehicle. Another suspect got into her vehicle while one of the suspects struck the victim on the head with an unknown weapon,” police said. “The suspects drove off in the victim’s vehicle along with her dog, a chocolate Labrador retriever. The victim’s wallet was found along Sunbury Road. Officers located the stolen vehicle and her dog a day later on Argyle Drive.”


The suspects are believed to be teenagers between the ages of 14 years old at 16 years old.

The victim could only identify the suspects as two, possibly more, male blacks who were approximately 14 to 16 years old, between 5’8” to 6’0” tall, and wearing ski masks.

According to police investigating the incident, no suspects or motives have been announced at this time. No arrests have been made.
