Newark Police Seeking to Identify E-Bike Thief

NEWARK, NJ – the Newark police department is investigating after a suspect stole an electric bike outside a supermarket on August 24th.

“Police responded to a call about a theft that occurred at approximately 6 p.m. at the C Town Supermarket, located in the 900 block of 18th avenue. The owner of the bicycle, a green and gray Shimano valued at $2,300 placed his electric vehicle and a black North Face book bag outside of the C Town. While the owner was inside the supermarket, the suspect was captured on surveillance video taking the bicycle and book bag. He fled westbound,” police said.

According to police, the suspect, who fled westbound, is described as a dark-skinned male with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing an open red hooded zippered sweatshirt with a black undershirt, red matching sweat pants, and black Jordan sneakers with red and white stripes on the base of the sneakers. The Suspect is said to frequent the area of 18th Avenue, Isabella, and South Orange avenues.
