Florida Man Killed in Ocean City Crash

OCEAN CITY, MD – The Ocean City Police Department is continuing to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle that occurred on September 14, 2022.

The Ocean City Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of 100th Street and northbound Coastal Highway at approximately 5:15 p.m.  The victim, Nicholas Ramirez, 32, Deltona, FL was flown by Trooper 4 to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the area of 67th Street. The motorcycle fled from officers, at which time the officer did not pursue the motorcycle. The officer provided a detailed description of the motorcyclist and motorcycle to fellow officers. A short time later, Ocean City Communications dispatched officers to the motor vehicle collision at 100th Street. The victim, Ramirez was identified as the motorcyclist that had fled from officers.


The Ocean City Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is currently investigating the collision. Northbound traffic on Coastal Highway at 100th Street was reduced to one lane of travel for approximately 2 hours.
