Piscataway Man Arrested for Impersonating Police Officer at the Jersey Shore

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ –  On September 19th, 2022, at approximately 2:25 am, officers were dispatched to the area of Willow Drive for a report of harassment.  The victim reported that she was followed while driving by an unknown subject.  She stated that the issue pulled up next to her parked and shined a spotlight on her.  He then identified himself as a police officer.  She requested the subject produce his badge, which he refused to do, so she called 911.  The subject fled the area, and she could provide a description of him and the vehicle he was operating.  She described the vehicle as a white Ford Explorer equipped with a spotlight.

Officer Bernhard observed the suspect vehicle traveling east on Deal Road and conducted a motor vehicle stop.  The driver was identified as Ahmed Aziz of Piscataway.  He matched the description provided by the victim and was ultimately placed under arrest. 

He was transported to police headquarters for processing, and his vehicle was seized pending forfeiture proceedings Addit. ionally, \Agiz was charged with Impersonating a Police Officer and Harassment.  He was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending an initial court appearance.  Anyone who believes they may have encountered this subject within Ocean Township can contact Detective Steve Walker or their local police department.
