Pittsburgh Police Use Tourniquets to Save Gunshot Victim’s Life

PITTSBURGH, PA – Just before 10:20 p.m., Zone 1 officers responded to Shotspotter alerts for two shots fired in the 1700 block of Marmaduke Street.

Arriving units located a male victim with gunshot wounds to the leg and groin area. They applied tourniquets until medics arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police are investigating this incident as a robbery and attempted carjacking. They are looking for as many as three actors who are believed to have fled the area on foot.
