Burlington police seek driver of tractor-trailer who fled scene of crash

BURLINGTON CITY, NJ – Police in Burlington City are asking the public to help identify a tractor trailer that crashed into a utility pole, causing damage that fled the scene of the crash.

On Thursday, at around 6 am, officers responded to Route 130 North and High Street for the report of a motor vehicle crash.

“Upon arrival, officers found that a tractor-trailer attempted to make a right turn onto Rte. 130 N from High St., leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole, traffic light standard, and electrical box,” the BCPD said today. “The tractor trailer fled the scene traveling northbound on Rte. 130. The crash caused extensive damage to the utility pole and traffic standard, resulting in the closure of Rte. 130 for approximately fourteen hours.”


The City of Burlington Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the tractor trailer depicted in the following video clip. This crash is being investigated by the City of Burlington Police Department Traffic Unit. Any person with information regarding this investigation is urged to call Cpl.
