SOMERS POINT, NJ – Somers Point officials have declared the official hours for trick-or-treating in the community to be between the hours of 6-8 pm and are reminding families to use common sense and caution while out and about.

In particular, the township is cautioning against children eating candy without it first being inspected by an adult.

“Children should be warned that all treats should be thoroughly examined before being consumed,” Somers Point PD said today.

The department also recommends light-colored costumes or reflective devices on dark costumes. Drivers are urged to use caution on Monday, October 31st as children will be out and about.
