MANCHESTER, PA – A package thief was captured on camera and by a homeowner while tracking to take a box from a front porch in Manchester on Tuesday.
The Northern York County Regional Police Department reported the incident and released video footage from the attempted theft on Wednesday.
“The thief placed money under the victim’s doormat before stealing the package. The homeowner confronted the thief who returned the package to the porch,” police reported. “Prior to leaving the scene the suspect retrieved the money (claimed to be a twenty-dollar bill) that he left under the homeowner’s door mat.”
The suspect fled in a black Chrysler that was also not his.
