75-year-old man assaulted in Greenwich Village

On Wednesday November 9, 2022, at Approx. 7:40 P.M., In vicinity of Bedford St. And Downing St. a unknown individual approached a 75-year-old male from behind, pushing him to floor causing physical injury

NEW YORK – A 75-year-old man was assaulted by an unknown black male Wednesday evening at around 7:40 pm in Greenwich Village. The NYPD has released photos of the alleged suspect who approached the elderly man from behind, pushing him to the ground ad causing physical injury. The man was treated for his injuries, and his status is unknown at this time.

The incident took place in the area of Downing Street and Bedford Street. Detectives are asking the public to assist in identifying the assailant.

Police said after being knocked to the ground, the elderly man was dragged along the concrete. He suffered multiple bruises and contusions. He refused to be transported to the hospital and received medical treatment later.
