ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A man and a woman were both arrested and charged after a routine patrol stop in Atlantic City yielded a loaded gun and cocaine.

According to police, on Thursday, detectives from the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section were patrolling Texas Avenue when they observed a vehicle driven by Hameed Farmer vehicle committing several traffic violations.

In the 3300 block of Fairmount Avenue, detectives attempted to initiate a traffic stop when the vehicle suddenly fled westbound on Fairmount Avenue and eventually came to a halt two blocks away.

Farmer was ordered to exit the vehicle by detectives as they approached the vehicle. Initially, the farmer refused to comply with orders and reluctantly exited.

Christina Lockett, a female passenger, was also removed from the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, detectives searched the vehicle and discovered a revolver handgun.

Approximately 6 grams of cocaine and 280 grams of marijuana were also seized, as well as approximately $400.00 in US currency believed to be proceeds of illegal narcotics sales. Farmer and Lockett were taken into custody without incident.
