Brazen car thieves in Toms River entered home to get keys, second car stolen hours later

At approximately 8:30 AM, police were dispatched to Benjamin Street, Tallymawr, for a reported motor vehicle theft. The owner stated that his unlocked 2022 Audi RS7 had been stolen at approximately 2:30 AM. There were no signs any entry was made to the home, and nothing else was reported damaged or stolen.

Toms River, NJ – Three brazen car thieves entered a home in the North Dover community of Tallymawr through an unlocked front door in order to get the keys to steal the homeowner’s Range Rover on Friday.

The robbery took place at 5:04 am. Police were called to Brentwood Avenue for a reported home invasion and car theft.

Ring doorbell video footage shows the three masked suspects entering the home.


Three hours later, at around 8:30 am, police were dispatched to Benjamin Street in the same neighborhood for a second reported motor vehicle theft.

“The owner stated that his unlocked 2022 Audi RS7 had been stolen at approximately 2:30 AM. There were no signs any entry was made to the home, and nothing else was reported damaged or stolen,” the Toms River Police Department said in a statement. “We are reminding the public to check your home and vehicle doors regularly. If you are a victim, please immediately notify authorities and do not attempt to engage the suspects. For your safety and the safety of others, DO NOT attempt to follow, chase or recover your vehicle.”
