6-Year-Old and 9-Year-Old Among Three Shot during D.C. Metro Bus Melee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two children and a 32-year-old man were shot on Wednesday afternoon. The children were exiting a Metro Bus when the shooting took place. This incident happened at the 6000 Block of 14th Street. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police and the NIBIN Investigations Unit are asking for help identifying the suspects.

Shortly after 4 pm, police arrived at the scene to investigate a report of a shooting. When they arrived they discovered a 6-year-old female and a 9-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. An adult male went to a nearby apartment complex and was found by officers also suffering from a gunshot wound. The three victims were taken to hospitals with serious injuries but are expected to survive.

The Metro Bus had been heading north on 14th Street. Multiple people entered the bus and began to assault a person on the bus. The fight moved off the bus, and one of the people in the group that was fighting took out a gun and began shooting. Police Chief Robert Contee said that it appeared that the children were coming home from school when they were shot.


 The adult shooting victim, 32-year-old Stephen Perdomo of Maryland, was placed under arrest for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
