Utica police investigating shooting on James Street

UTICA, NY – A man was shot Thursday morning in the area Utica Street and now police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the gunman.

According to the Utica Police Department and Utica Fire Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of James Street and Dudley Avenue regarding a gunshot victim at around 10:10 AM.

A male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg upon arrival. He was immediately transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, where it was discovered that the injury was not life-threatening.

The investigation revealed that an altercation had occurred, resulting in the male being shot. No arrests have been made.
