Animal cruelty investigation launched after viral video of dog being abused in Yonkers

YONKERS, NY -An investigation has been initiated by the Yonkers Police Department into a social media video that appears to depict a man abusing a dog. In the video, the man is seen picking up the dog and throwing it into a metal garage door.

The Yonkers Police Department became aware of the viral video and launched an investigation.

“The Yonkers Police Department is aware of a video that surfaced on social media that showed an individual appearing to mistreat an animal within the confines of our city,” the Yonkers Police Department said today. “Yonkers Police Officers are currently investigating this incident in conjunction with the SPCA of Westchester County’s Humane Law Enforcement Unit. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.”


Afterward, the man walked across the street with the dog.
