“These plates are a respectful way of honoring the brave women who volunteered to protect and serve our nation,” said Corrado (R-40). “The freedoms we all enjoy as Americans depend on the contributions of these courageous individuals who answer the call when trouble breaks out around the globe. The special plates will serve as public reminders that many of our nation’s heroes reside in our hometowns here in New Jersey.”

Corrado’s bill, S-3481, authorizes the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to issue special “Woman Veteran” license plates.

An application to obtain the license plate must include proof that the applicant is a veteran. Examples of acceptable documents include the applicant’s DD-214 form, a Certificate of Release, or Discharge from Active Duty papers.
