Police seeking second suspect in Gouverneur shooting death

GOUVERNEUR, NY – Police have little to go on but are now hoping photos of a second suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that took place in Gouverneur on February 11 can help them find a killer.

New York State Police investigators are attempting to identify an individual that was captured on surveillance cameras regarding that incident.

Police have already charged Frederick A. Wing, 22, with second-degree murder for the stabbing death of 72-year-old Ronald Durham at East Riverside Cemetery.

It is not sure why police are searching for the second suspect at this time.

The individual in the photos were seen at two different times on February 14, 2023, on East Main Street in the village of Gouverneur. This individual was westbound on East Main Street, near the intersection of Clinton Street, at approximately 1:51 a.m., then eastbound on East Main Street at 3:28 a.m. This individual in the images appears to be a male, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and baseball hat. This person is riding a BMX style bicycle. The bicycle appears to have a light in color frame with dark colored rims. In the 3:28 am image, the individual has a large, dark in color duffle bag on their back.

Any residence or business in the village with video surveillance is encouraged to review footage for the date and time in question. If anyone recognizes the individual or bicycle in the photos, they are asked to contact State Police at (315) 379-0012.
