Man with saw blade, bike chain sought in Bronx attack

NEW YORK, NY – Police in the Bronx are searching for a man who engaged in a dispute with a 37-year-old victim before attacking him with a bike chain.

According to detectives with the New York City Police Department’s 44th Precinct, at around 10 am on Monday, the suspect approached the victim inside 855 Gerard Avenue in the Bronx armed with a saw blade and bicycle chain.

“The 37-year-old male victim was engaged in a dispute with an unidentified male,” the NYPD said in a statement today. “The unidentified male approached the victim while displaying a saw blade and a bike chain and proceeded to strike the victim in the back with the bike chain before fleeing.”


The victim had minor injuries and refused medical attention.

No arrests have been made at this time.
