25-year-old shot and killed in broad daylight in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – Police in the Bronx are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man in the Bronx after hs was found shot dead on Sunday.

Police with the city’s 48th Precinct responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the Belmont section at around 1:20 pm. When they arrived at the scene at the intersection of Bathgate Avenue and East 183 Street, they found a male victim unconscious and unresponsive.

Police determined the deceased to be 25-year-old Achilles Baskin of Webster Avenue. Baskin had a single gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital by FDNY EMS where he was pronounced dead shorty after arrival.


No suspects have been identified. No arrests have been made.
