UPS delivery driver robbed in Staten Island

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is investigating after a man forcibly robbed a UPS driver in Staten Island on Thursday.

Police are now asking the public to assist in identifying the suspect.

Police reported the robbery at around 10:30 am on Thursday in the area of 2348 Richmond Road. Police said a 56-year-old UPS delivery driver was making a delivery when he was approached by an unknown male suspect who claimed the package was his.


The driver refused to release the package to the suspect. A brief struggle ensued as the man continued to claim the package was his.

“The UPS employee refused to release the package to the individual, who then forcibly removed the package from him,” the NYPD said in a statement today.

The suspect fled with the stolen package, which contained a credit card. The UPS employee was not injured.

The suspect was described as a male approximately in his 20s, 5’9″ tall, with a medium complexion, medium build, black hair, and a tattoo under his eye, last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and green sneakers.
