Is Chris Christie jumping the Trump ship for calmer seas under DeSantis?

MORRISTOWN, NJ – Former Governor Chris Christie wants to be President of the United States. He has made that clear time and time again. The people, however, have made it clear time and time again that they do not want him to be President.

In a recent Fox News poll, Christie polled at zero percent. He didn’t even register.

An article this week by InsiderNJ hints that the big guy might finally be throwing in the towel on his Presidential aspirations and that he may seal his Trump mutiny by jumping ship to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Chris Christie: Attorney General in a DeSantis Presidential Administration? That was the headline by Alan Steinberg, who followed Christie through his political career.

“It is the outstanding US Attorney record of Christie, however, that could result in a President Ron DeSantis appointing him as US Attorney General, ” Steinberg wrote. “If DeSantis nominates him for this role, Christie would only be 62 years old at the time he took office.  If DeSantis served two terms as president, Christie would be 69 years old during the last DeSantis year in the White House, not too old for Christie to make one last presidential run.”

Christie, who was an at-arms-length member of the Trump team throughout his presidency has had a falling out with the former President. It seems to have started shortly after both men accused each other of spreading COVID-19 at a Trump event in Bedminster ahead of a debate with Joe Biden.

Some say it was Trump’s four-year snub of Christie during his presidency that Christie still harbors deep resentment for. Others say the Trump snub was a result of Christie sending Jared Kushner’s father to prison. Kushner is now Trump’s son-in-law.

“Jared Kushner’s father committed ‘one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes’ I prosecuted,” Christie boasted of his protection.

Insiders believe it was Kushner who convinced Trump to dump Christie early on.

Until something changes, Christie maintains his media gig at ABC where he continues to attack Trump and other Republicans who aren’t Chris Christie.
