SILVER SPRING, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested 21-year-old Javier Reyes of Silver Spring and 20-year-old Brian Gaitan-Sanchez of Bladensburg in connection with the homicide of 20-year-old Walter Woods.
The crime took place on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane in Silver Spring.
Through a thorough investigation, detectives identified Reyes and Sanchez as the primary suspects in Woods’ murder. On Monday, arrest warrants were obtained for both men, charging them with first-degree murder.
The following day, a search and seizure warrant was executed at their residences, resulting in their arrest. Both Reyes and Gaitan-Sanchez were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and are currently being held without bond.
