TOMS RIVER, NJ – Most New Jersey lottery players don’t know this, but you can submit your losing lottery tickets to enter into a drawing for a million-dollar prize. That’s what Ed Schlesinger of Ocean County did and he became an instant millionaire this week.

On Friday, the New Jersey Lottery’s Million Dollar Replay Grand Prize Drawing was held at Caesars Atlantic City Hotel & Casino, where more than $1,500,000 in prizes were awarded to contest lucky players.

Schlesinger was present at the event as his name was called out as New Jersey Lottery’s newest millionaire. Fourteen other Lottery players also received prizes ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 as part of the Grand Prize Drawing.

According to the New Jersey Lottery, throughout 2022, New Jersey Lottery players all over the state submitted their non-winning instant tickets online for a second chance to win big prizes.

“Each quarter, 100 names were selected and awarded a $250 prize, as well as entry into today’s Grand Prize Drawing,” the commission said in a statement today. “Fifteen prizes were awarded, along with five $1,000 door prizes, five Scratch-Offs packs worth $300 each, and five gift baskets. Guests also enjoyed the fan-favorite Big Spin Wheel and roaming photo booth with many opportunities to win prizes.”

“Once again, New Jersey Lottery players who were quarterfinalists in the Million Dollar Replay contest came to Atlantic City for fun, entertainment, and their chance to become a millionaire. For the 12th consecutive year, we were happy to see our players enjoy the ultimate do-over with their opportunity to win $1,000,000,” James Carey, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director said.
