74-year-old woman wins $100k top prize on lottery scratch-off ticket

GLEN BURNIE, MD – A 75-year-old woman proved it’s never too old to win in the Maryland Lottery. This week, the lottery commission reported that the elderly woman hit big.

She’s a shrewd lottery player. She said she routinely checks to see which scratch-off tickets still have big prizes available before she plays. This time, it was a $10 Money Rush ticket.

“Through the years, she won several second-chance prizes through the My Lottery Rewards player loyalty program. With her winnings, the Glen Burnie retiree and her husband plan to do some home improvements, pay bills, take a trip and save the rest,” the Maryland Lottery said.


The ticket was sold at Soda Pop Shop at 337 Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie and will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
