Gas station employee thwarts armed robbery in Queens

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in an attempted robbery that occurred within the 114 Precinct on Thursday, March 23, 2023. At approximately 8:04 PM, an unknown individual entered the Quality Fuel and Go gas station at 37-45 21 Street, brandished a firearm, and demanded property from the location.

The employee refused to comply, prompting the individual to flee the scene in a red Nissan Sentra, last seen heading eastbound on 38 Avenue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as an adult male with a large build, last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers. The NYPD has released images and video footage of the suspect and the vehicle, which can be found at DCPI.
