TOMS RIVER, NJ – Eric Manzanares, 23, of Asbury Park, who had been on the run since August 2022 in connection with the murder of Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick Township, has been apprehended by law enforcement in Prince William County, Virginia. Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced on April 7, 2023, that Manzanares is presently lodged in the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center in Manassas, Virginia, awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
On August 27, 2022, Toms River Township Police Department officers responded to a report of gunshots having been fired at the Top Tier Hookah Lounge. Three victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds, including Nymere Tinsley, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other victims, Anthony Miller and Jamal Bland, were treated for their injuries and released.
After an extensive investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department Detective Bureau, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Manzanares was identified as the suspect responsible for the shooting of all three victims. He was charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Since August of 2022, Manzanares had been on the run, with a warrant for his arrest issued and his name entered into the National Crime Information Center database. However, thanks to the combined efforts of several law enforcement agencies, including the United States Marshals Service, Manzanares was finally apprehended in Prince William County, Virginia.
