Teen charged for shooting murder of man taking out his trash

HENRICO COUNTY, VA – An 18-year-old suspect, Dyven G. Henderson, has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 49-year-old Shelby William Jacobs on the 5700 block of Crenshaw Road.

The incident occurred on Friday morning while Jacobs was taking out the trash and disposing of an old TV. Police responded to the scene after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Henderson was quickly located and arrested by authorities, who credited the community’s assistance for the speedy apprehension. Henderson faces charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.


The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
