Police find heroin while investigating shoplifting incident at Cambridge Walmart

CAMBRIDGE, MD – Police in Cambridge investigating a shoplifting incident at Walmart found the suspect to be carrying heroin on their person during an arrest last week.

On April 6, at approximately 11:17 am, CPD officers responded to Walmart regarding a theft. Officers contacted Asset Protection Officers (APO) who provided a description of the suspect and details of the incident. The suspect, later identified as Travis Wayne Snodgrass, 32 years old of Cambridge, was observed entering the restroom area with merchandise and then exiting without the items.

Snodgrass was also seen damaging multiple items of packaging in the store and consuming food and drink merchandise. He was apprehended and found to be in possession of stolen lighters, which he had taken into the restroom, as well as heroin and related paraphernalia.


Snodgrass was also found to have been previously trespassed from entering Walmart. He was issued multiple criminal citations and released on his signature. Snodgrass was charged with multiple offenses, including theft less than $100 value, trespassing, malicious destruction of property, and CDS possession not cannabis (heroin).
