NYPD arrests three men wanted for two murders, multiple armed robberies

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department has made several arrests following an ongoing investigation into a Manhattan-wide robbery pattern and two homicides. The first homicide occurred on April 21, 2022, in the 7th Precinct, and the victim was identified as 25-year-old Julio Cesar Ramirez.

The second homicide took place between May 26 and June 1, 2022, in the 19th Precinct, claiming the life of 33-year-old John Umberger.

The robbery pattern includes a total of 17 incidents investigated between September 19, 2021, and August 28, 2022. The three identified suspects, Jayqwan Hamilton (35), Robert Demaio (34), and Jacob Barroso (30), have been arrested and charged with various crimes, including murder, robbery, grand larceny, identity theft, and conspiracy.


The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in providing any additional information regarding these incidents.
