Delmar, Md – A Delmar resident is celebrating after winning a $50,000 prize in the Maryland Lottery’s “20X The Cash” scratch-off game. The lucky winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, says she owes her good fortune to a moment of confusion at the store where she bought the ticket.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the woman purchased the winning ticket at a convenience store in Delmar. She had intended to buy a different scratch-off game, but due to her confusion, she ended up buying a “20X The Cash” ticket instead.
“I was in a hurry and not paying attention,” the winner said. “I thought I had asked for a different ticket, but I guess I got mixed up.”
The winner scratched off the ticket in her car and was shocked to see the $50,000 prize revealed.
“I had to look at it several times to make sure I wasn’t mistaken,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
The winner plans to use her prize money to pay off some bills and take a vacation with her family. She also plans to put some of the money into savings.
