Delaware State Police investigate home invasion shooting in Lincoln

Lincoln, DE – A 66-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday after being shot inside his Lincoln home during an early morning break-in, according to Delaware State Police.

Troopers responded at about 6:21 a.m. to the 29000 block of Fleatown Road, where investigators said an unknown suspect entered the residence through an unsecured door and shot the victim in the chest while he was asleep.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. His current condition has not been released.

Detectives with the Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit are leading the case, which remains active.
