Subway groper sought by NYPD

NEW YORK, NY – A young woman was groped while riding a subway train in Queens on Monday. Today, detectives investigating the case released a photo of the suspect taken on a nearby surveillance camera.

According to police, a 23-year-old female victim was walking up the steps of the Flushing Avenue subway station at approximately 2100 hours when an unknown male individual approached her from behind and slapped her buttocks. The man then fled on foot on Flushing Avenue. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident.

The individual is described as male, approximately 5’9” in height, and weighing around 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket. The NYPD has released media depicting the individual and is requesting anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers.
