ATLANTA, GA – The Atlanta Police Department (APD) announced Sunday that they were working with the department’s Homeland Security Unit (HSU) to investigate antisemitic flyers that were distributed around the city, according to a press release.

The flyers were distributed over the weekend in East Atlanta and reportedly had a “large rainbow-colored Star of David” as well as antisemitic and “transphobic” messages, according to 11Alive, an Atlanta-based news outlet. APD announced in a press release Sunday that they were “made aware of antisemitic and transphobic flyers” and were investigating the incident alongside the HSU.

“[T]heir distribution has led to a heightened level of awareness throughout our department and we have increased patrols around where the flyers were found,” the press release read. “Anyone who may have observed or received one of these flyers is asked to notify us.”

The department did not disclose the specific content of the flyers and clarified that “[a]t this time, we are not aware of any criminal acts related to the flyers,” according to the press release. Police also did not disclose if they had any suspects.

An APD spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation that “there is nothing new to share at this time.”

Two months prior, Georgia residents in the Atlanta neighborhood of Sandy Springs received similar flyers, including Jewish Democratic state Rep. Esther Panitch, who blasted the incident on Twitter, according to 11Alive.

“Welcome to being a Jew in Georgia-my driveway this morning,” Panitch wrote. “@SandySprings_PD came & took for testing. Govern yourselves accordingly, GDL and Anti-Semites who seek to harm/intimidate Jews in Georgia. I’m coming for you with the weight of the State behind me.”
