NYPD investigating armed robbery at J. Hood Write Park

NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating an armed robbery inside a park in Washington Heights that took place on Sunday.

The New York City Police Department has appealed to the public to assist in identifying two suspects connected to a robbery at J. Hood Wright Park in the department’s 33rd Precinct. The incident occurred at around 5:30 pm

According to the report, a 48-year-old male victim was inside the restroom at the park when an unknown individual approached him and put an unknown object on his back.


The individual, who claimed to have a gun, removed the victim’s chain and wallet containing $300 cash. Meanwhile, another unknown person acted as a lookout and stood in the doorway. Thankfully, the victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspects were last seen running southbound on Fort Washington Avenue.

The first suspect is described as a male in his early 30s, with a light complexion, beard, approximately 5’8” tall, and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, camouflage pants, and black shoes. The second suspect is described as a male in his early 30s, with a medium complexion, approximately 6’ tall, and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and gray sneakers.
