Home invaders threatened to shoot 5-year-old boy, assaulted grandmother in Bronx robbery

NEW YORK, NY – A trio of armed home invaders entered the home of a mom and her 5-year-old son, demanding money and threatening to kill the young boy if she did not comply.

Now, the New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying three individuals involved in the home invasion robbery on Wednesday at approximately 8:00 a.m.

According to a police report, the three suspects waited outside of the apartment of a 30-year-old female victim, located near Gates Place and West Gun Hill Road. When the door was opened, the suspects entered the apartment and displayed a firearm, threatening to shoot the victim’s 5-year-old son unless the victim gave them money.


The suspects pistol-whipped the victim’s 58-year-old mother and forced the victim into a back bedroom where a safe was located. The suspects then removed the safe, which contained $40,000 cash. Two of the suspects fled the location in a gray sedan, while the third fled in a dark blue SUV.

The suspect was described as a male approximately 18-to-20-years-old, 5’8″ tall, with a light complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a gray hooded sweatshirt with a Nike logo on the front, dark colored pants, and white sneakers.

A second suspect was described as a male approximately 18-to-20-years-old, 5’8″ tall, with a light complexion and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers, and white gloves.

The third susecpt is described as a male approximately 18-to-20-years-old, 5’8″ tall, with a light complexion and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, and white gloves.

The NYPD has released video and photos of the three suspects inside the apartment.

The 30-year-old victim and her 5-year-old son were unharmed, while the 58-year-old victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.
