North Wildwood to Host Captain Kidd Pirate Day with Parade, Treasure Hunt, and Bonfire

North Wildwood, NJ – Avast, ye hearties! The Wildwoods are gearing up for a fun-filled day of pirate-themed adventure with Captain Kidd Pirate Day, to be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Hosted by the North Wildwood Recreation and Tourism, the event promises to be a swashbuckling good time, featuring a parade, treasure hunt, and bonfire.

Children aged 12 and under are invited to dress in their best pirate-themed attire and participate in a free parade of brave buccaneers and scallywags. The parade will start at 26th & the Boardwalk at 10 a.m., where costumes will be judged before proceeding down the boardwalk to 19th & the beach. Here, participants will be led to where ‘X’ marks the spot, where Captain Kidd is rumored to have buried his famous treasure.

After the parade, the festivities continue with the Captain Kidd Bonfire, hosted by the North Wildwood Volunteer Fire Company #1. Located at 1st & Surf Avenue at Inlet Beach, this family-friendly event will offer live music and family fun from 6-9:30 p.m. Captain Kidd himself will be available for photos from 6-8 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
